Same Page Meeting

A Same Page Meeting is a private session between the Visionary™ and the Integrator™, usually monthly, where the two of them settle disagreements early. The format matches any other EOS® meeting, a short list of issues worked through one at a time, and it happens before anybody else sees the disagreement. What differs is that only two people are in the room.

How EOS uses the Same Page Meeting

EOS treats the relationship between those two seats as the one most likely to break a company at the top, so it gets a meeting of its own. The pair use IDS® on their own list, which tends to hold the things neither wants to raise in front of the leadership team. Anything that survives goes on to the weekly meeting.

When the two people at the top are quietly out of step, everybody below them feels it as mixed signals and stalled decisions. A standing meeting gives the disagreement somewhere to go on a schedule, rather than surfacing in front of eight people at the worst possible moment. Skipping it is a common reason a rollout stalls in year one.

Worked example: At a sixty-person events company the founder kept adding service lines and the general manager kept quietly slowing them down. Neither had said so directly in two years. Their first monthly session produced a single issue, phrased as whether the company would launch anything new before the second venue opened, and it took forty minutes to close.
